The shortage of young talent in technical professions continues to be a challenge for many industries. This makes it all the more important to spark children’s and young people’s interest in technology at an early age and provide them with exciting opportunities to explore the world of engineering and innovation.

With this goal in mind, the VDI Rheingau District Association hosts its annual Technology Day in Flörsheim. On Friday, August 28, 2026, around 1,000 preschool and primary school children attended the event at Flörsheim Town Hall, where they had the opportunity to experience technology first-hand, take part in interactive activities, and discover their curiosity for technical subjects.

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the venue was bustling with activity. Numerous companies, institutions, and VDI representatives showcased their work through engaging experiments, creative workshops, and hands-on engineering projects.

ECONO-PAK was once again proud to participate with its own exhibition stand and was delighted by the enthusiastic response from the young visitors. One of the most popular activities was building small electric cars, allowing children to combine creativity with a basic understanding of technology. Designing and decorating custom buttons was another crowd favorite, inspiring plenty of imagination and artistic flair.

Another highlight was the ECONO-PAK presentation film. Featuring packaging technology used for many everyday products, the film captivated not only adults but also the youngest visitors. Many children were fascinated to learn how modern packaging machines operate and how products are processed before reaching store shelves.

For ECONO-PAK, the event once again provided an excellent opportunity to introduce technical concepts in a fun, accessible, and engaging way. It is always inspiring to see how eagerly children embrace technical challenges and how quickly curiosity can develop into genuine interest.
