After more than 31 years at ECONO-PAK, we bid farewell to our valued colleague Markus Zerbe on March 31 as he entered his well-deserved retirement. It was a special moment for all of us—marked by gratitude, respect, and many shared memories.

As part of his farewell, Markus received a bouquet of flowers from our team as well as a very personal gift: a map of Germany marked with a pin for every deal he has landed over the course of his long career. An impressive symbol of his dedication and the many relationships he has built over the years.

In his farewell email, Markus shares heartfelt words with our business partners. He looks back on a time marked by highs and challenges – “almost like real (working) life.” He expresses special thanks for the trusting collaboration and the openness in our exchanges.

A quote from John Lennon accompanies him into this new chapter of his life:

“Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” With this thought in mind, Markus is now taking the leap into a new chapter—eager to see what lies ahead and full of anticipation for his newfound freedom.
